As icy temperatures grip the North, vacationers turn their sights toward Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mid-winter afternoons reach comfortably into the upper fifties. The weather is ideal for hitting the fairways in a light sweater and spending time in snowbird vacation rentals.
So why not extend winter stays and get months to relax instead of a quick getaway? Booking directly through Carolina Palm Vacations secures an snowbird vacation rental or spacious coastal home across Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, complete with high-speed internet, fresh linens, and all the comforts of home at check-in.
In addition, you can get 50 percent off stays of 28 nights or more for most properties, with the discount automatically applied at checkout.
Why Is Myrtle Beach an Affordable Winter Destination?
Myrtle Beach is affordable in winter because the Grand Strand enters its off-season, and prices fall as crowds thin. Islands named it one of five affordable East Coast escapes for winter.
Golf and dining are a major pull too. January and February are the area’s slowest months, and golf packages then run at least 25 percent below spring prices. Restaurants that run hour-long waits in July take walk-ins from December to mid-March.
What Are the Benefits of Snowbird Rentals with Carolina Palm Vacations?
Our snowbird vacation rentals reward a longer stay:
- Monthly discounts: Most properties take up to 50 percent off winter rates for stays longer than 28 nights. The discount applies automatically at checkout.
- One cleaning and linen fee: You pay cleaning and linen fees once per stay, whether you book one month or three.
- No accommodations tax at 90 nights: Stay 90 nights or longer in one rental, and you skip the 12 to 13 percent in accommodations taxes.
Filter our winter rentals collection by city, bedrooms and amenities to see for yourself.
Why Should You Reserve a Winter Stay in the Fall?
Reserve snowbird rentals in the fall because monthly guests claim the winter calendar early. October through March is the most popular window for monthly stays at Carolina Palm Vacations. A 90-night stay also needs three open months in a row on one unit’s calendar.
Fall booking also fits our payment policy. Book more than 30 days out, and you pay half at booking and half 30 days before check-in. Cancel at least 60 days before arrival for a full refund.
What Is There to Do in Myrtle Beach in Winter?
Winter here runs on golf, live music and happy hour:
- Discounted golf: The Snowbird Golf Passport costs $66 and cuts rates at more than 70 courses from December to March.
- Live music: MyrtleLive’s daily lineup tracks bands across the Grand Strand. On Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, Fat Harold’s Beach Club plays beach music and teaches the shag dancing for free on select nights.
- Happy hour: Several North Myrtle Beach restaurants run daily happy hours. Barefoot Landing alone has more than a dozen restaurants beside the Intracoastal Waterway.
